National Democratic Alliance Receives IRI Training
February 25, 2005
In response to a request from Sudan’s National Democratic Alliance (NDA), IRI hosted a coalition development seminar in Kampala, Uganda, during the week of Feb. 14, 2005. The NDA, an alliance of 14 Sudanese parties in opposition to the current government, has called for the recognition of democracy in Sudan, protection of human rights and the guarantee of fundamental freedoms. The NDA Leadership requested IRI’s assistance with the political development of the coalition as well as assistance for its member parties as they work towards transition to democracy in Sudan. IRI assembled a team of international experts to conduct training sessions on topics such as an effective opposition, coalition building, message development and fundraising.
