IRI continues to provide assistance to Asian nations at various stages of political development: from those struggling to free themselves to those in transition to established democracies. IRI’s support includes enhancing the capacity of civil society to effect political and social development, providing expertise to political parties on internal and external reform, enhancing government responsiveness and accountability and encouraging women, youth and minorities to increase their participation in the political process.
