Program Office Re-opens in Hong Kong

IRI re-established its office in Hong Kong with the appointment of Eric Morrissey as Resident Program Officer for China. In addition to managing the existing China program, Eric will identify and facilitate new program activities. Eric speaks and reads Mandarin, which he learned while living in China for two years. While living in China, Eric worked for a joint-venture company in Yunnan Province and served as project advisor for the China Yunnan School for International Training program. He has a master’s degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, with a specialization in U.S. foreign policy, Northeast Asian security studies, and Chinese internal politics. Most recently in his capacity as consultant for the United Nations Development Program Bureau for Crisis Prevention and Recovery and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Eric gained experience in various aspects of international development, including transitional recovery, institutional capacity-building, and justice and security sector reform.
