IRI Co-Hosts Seminar to Help Political Parties Prepare for Elections
November 13, 2002
IRI, along with the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and the Russian political party Union of Right Forces (SPS), conducted a training seminar on October 21-25 for key SPS campaign staff working on the 2003 State Duma election campaigns.
US pollster William Dalbec of Wirthlin Worldwide, an opinion research company, delivered two presentations on the practicality and importance of research and focus groups in successful campaigns. As a result, participants will have a better understanding of how to involve research in targeting voters, develop messages and test issues of broad concern to Russians. Participants also will be able to share lessons learned with regional and local campaign workers.
