IRI Partner Launches Website to Promote Party Youth
June 2, 2006
The International Republican Institute (IRI) assisted Venezuela’s national political party Primero Justicia with launching its first-ever youth branch website, www.justiciajuvenil.org.ve. The website, which includes a chat room, is designed to create a forum where issues facing Venezuelan youth can be discussed. The site also enables the party to promote ideas and post events, schedules and candidate and registration information.
The website was launched during an IRI training seminar in Caracas, entitled How to use the Internet as an Effective Political Communications Tool, to help youth party members utilize the website to communicate effectively.
The party’s presidential candidate, Julio Borges, and general secretary, Gerardo Blyde, attended the training and the official launch. During the launch, Borges thanked IRI for its guidance and said that he hopes the website will help the younger people of the party strengthen their cause and increase support nationwide.
Primero Justicia hopes the website will encourage youth participation in the political process, as well as attract new party members and volunteers.
