Washington, D.C. – The International Republican Institute (IRI) issued the following statement in response to yesterday’s attacks on innocent civilians at a Christmas market in Berlin.
“IRI stands with the families of the victims, the people of Berlin and the Federal Republic of Germany as they mourn this senseless act.
“We at IRI are proud of the close relationships we have forged with our German partners at the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, the Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung and our friends in the Bundestag, political parties and the federal government. We will continue to invest in building ever closer ties among the democracies in the transatlantic community to fight more effectively against the violent ideologies that threaten the values that we all hold so dear.”
