Alfred Hoffman, Jr.

Board Member

Al Hoffman served as Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Portugal from 2005 – 2007.  He joined IRI’s Board of Directors in 2012.  Prior to his U.S. State Department service, Hoffman was founder, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of WCI Communities, Inc. which under his guidance became a leading community developer, homebuilder and real estate services company serving primary, retirement and second-home buyers in Florida, Washington DC area, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.  A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Hoffman served as a fighter pilot during his military career and later earned an MBA from the Harvard Business School.  He has served as National Finance Co-Chair for the George W. Bush for President Campaign, Co-Chairman of Finance for the Presidential Inaugural Committee, and National Finance Chairman of the Republican National Committee for 2001 and 2003-2004 and a National Co-Chair for the McCain ’08 Campaign.
