Ramsey C. Day

Senior Director, Center for Global Impact

Ramsey Day joined IRI in 2014 as the Resident Program Director in Amman, Jordan. He is now serving as the Senior Director of the Center Global Impact leading the Institute’s Governance, Research, and Monitoring & Evaluation efforts to cultivate innovative and informed global programming. 

Prior to joining IRI, Day held numerous senior positions within the international development and foreign policy communities both in the United States and various overseas posts. His U.S. government service includes serving as the Country Representative for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) office in Montenegro. He served at the USAID headquarters in Washington within the Legislative and Public Affairs (LPA) Bureau as the Chief of Public Liaison where he led the agency’s public outreach efforts. He also served as the Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor for the USAID Europe and Eurasia (E&E) Bureau advising the Assistant Administrator and other senior officials on development policy, strategic communications, and legislative issues related to the Europe and Eurasia region. 
 
Day has also held senior positions on numerous domestic and international political campaigns including the 2004 George W. Bush re-election campaign and the 2012 Romney/Ryan presidential campaign. Before government service, he worked for CNN and Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta, Georgia and New York leading the multi-media marketing efforts of Rainbow Media Inc.   
 
Day holds a master’s degree from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and a B.A. from the University of Mississippi. He lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife, Charlotte Florance Day.
