Utpal Misra
Utpal Misra is currently Senior Governance Manager and Team Lead at the Center for Global Impact (CGI) at the International Republican Institute and leads programs on anticorruption, political strengthening, citizen participation and environmental governance. Holding a technical portfolio, he provides support to country specific and regional programs globally.
He has had a varied career in international development spanning almost 20 years with multilateral agencies and non-profits and has spent several years as a journalist and media/communications consultant. He worked with the World Bank for almost a decade as a Governance Specialist, working on a wide range of topics on both the supply and demand side of governance. He has demonstrated work experience in multiple areas including building international networks, anticorruption, open government, social accountability, citizen engagement, Civic Tech, public service delivery, local governance strengthening, public policy and political affairs, political economy analysis, analysis of economic trends, social accountability, and leadership. Utpal holds a degree in International Relations and Economics from Johns Hopkins University.
