IRI Announces Arrival of Delegation for Pre-Election Assessment Mission in Côte d’Ivoire
Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire – The International Republican Institute (IRI), a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to advancing democracy and freedom globally, is deploying a pre-election assessment mission to Côte d’Ivoire from September 22 to 26, 2025 that will assess the electoral environment in advance of the October 25 presidential election.
This high-level mission, which will be led by IRI’s President, Dr. Daniel Twining, and IRI Board Member, Ms. Dana White, will arrive in Abidjan on September 22 and meet with a broad range of stakeholders, including the Independent Electoral Commission, political parties, and civil society organizations from across the Ivorian political spectrum.
The mission will present its findings at a press conference in Abidjan on September 26, where it will offer an impartial and objective assessment of election day preparations and practical recommendations to enhance electoral integrity in the run-up to the election.
Since 1984, IRI has organized over 250 international election observation missions worldwide, earning a reputation for objectivity and professionalism. The mission will conduct its activities in accordance with the Declaration of Principles for International Election Observation and the Code of Conduct adopted by the United Nations in 2005 and base its findings and recommendations on Ivorian laws and international standards for elections. All activities will be conducted on a strictly nonpartisan basis and without interfering in the electoral process.
