Russian Version

Almaty, Kazakhstan – IRI today released its survey (Russian Version) along with its analysis (Russian Version) of Kazakhstan public opinion.  The poll, conducted February 14-23, 2009, is a comprehensive analysis of attitudes regarding the Kazakh economic, social and political landscape.

The randomly selected sample consists of 1,519 adult men and women from 52 rural and 31 urban locations in all 14 regions of Kazakhstan as well as Astana city and Almaty city.  The study was designed and analyzed by Baltic Surveys / The Gallup Organization.  The survey was fielded by the Institute for Comparative Social Research-Kazakhstan under the supervision of IRI.  The margin of error for the national sample will not exceed ± 2.5 percent in 19 out of 20 cases.

IRI has conducted surveys in Kazakhstan since 2005, including two national polls over the past eight months.  The goal of the program is to both gauge public opinion and to use this information in conjunction with IRI’s work with Kazakhstan’s political parties.
