Islamabad, Pakistan – IRI today released its survey (IRI Index: Approval Ratings, IRI Index: Parliamentary Elections, IRI Index: Issues) of Pakistan public opinion. The poll, conducted February 12-March 7, 2007, covers Pakistan’s political landscape, approval ratings for political officials, opinions on important issues and the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The randomly selected sample consists of 3,997 adult men and women from nearly 256 villages and 144 urban locations from 65 districts in all four provinces of Pakistan. The margin of error for the national sample will not exceed +1.58 percent in 19 out of 20 cases.
IRI has conducted surveys in Pakistan since 2002, including three national polls over the past 12 months. The goal of the program is to not only gauge public opinion but to also use this information to inform Pakistan’s political parties.
