Jakarta, Indonesia – IRI released its latest survey of Aceh public opinion today.  The poll, conducted August 6-22, 2011, is a comprehensive analysis of attitudes regarding the Acehnese economic, social and political landscape.

The goal of IRI’s survey research program is twofold – gauging public opinion and using this information in conjunction with IRI’s work with Indonesia’s political parties.

The randomly selected sample consists of 1,075 adult men and women from 93 rural and 16 urban locations in 22 districts of Aceh.  The study was designed, analyzed and fielded by JRI Research under the supervision of Fallon Research and Communications on behalf of IRI.  The margin of error for the provincial sample will not exceed plus or minus three percent with a confidence level of 95 percent.

A nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, IRI advances freedom and democracy worldwide by developing political parties, civic institutions, open elections, good governance and the rule of law.
