IRI Watches Polls in Ekiti State, Nigeria

  • Alyssa Rickard

The International Republican Institute (IRI) was present for the off-cycle gubernatorial elections on July 14, 2018 in Ekiti State, Nigeria.

The trip was meant to inform the findings of a pre-election assessment mission conducted jointly with the National Democratic Institute (NDI) from July 11-20, 2018. At the Ekiti State polls, IRI staff assessed how reforms enacted by the election commission were implemented by polling officials and what improvements are needed to ensure that the 2019 presidential elections are free, fair and credible. Below are photos from election day.
