Statement on the Nomination of Gayle Smith to be Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development

Washington, DC – In a statement released today, Ambassador Mark Green (ret.), president of IRI, said the Institute welcomed the nomination of Gayle Smith to serve as the next administrator of the United States Agency for International Development.

“Gayle and I have worked together on a number of projects, including the Millennium Challenge Corporation board where she often represented the White House. She is an experienced leader in global development with innovative ideas, and I’m looking forward to working with her in advancing democracy and freedom around the world,” said Green.
