Mark Davelle joined IRI in 2024 as the Resident Operations Manager for Ukraine. In this role, he ensures operational continuity during the full-scale invasion, monitors staff safety and security, manages IRI support staff, and works to open new areas of programming throughout the country. Mark has been in Ukraine since 2022, managing complex security, logistical, and procurement challenges for the wider humanitarian emergency response.
Mark began his career in the private sector, coordinating compliance for an investment bank before side-stepping into the field of emergency aid work, where he spent almost a decade. He has a background in operations, coordination, security, procurement, and logistics, working in complex emergencies in South Sudan, Ethiopia, Iraq, and Pakistan, as well as three years of experience at the UN Migration Agency in London.
Mark holds an undergraduate and master’s degree from Queen Mary University of London and a Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) from City University London (2014). He is professionally qualified in procurement (CIPS) and served for three years in the British Army Infantry Reserves.
