Rachel Chute has spent over 14 years working in business and strategy development for both for-profit and non-profit organizations. She joined IRI in August 2020, where she is responsible for overseeing the Business Development team to secure awards from the U.S. Government and other donors. During her career in international development, Ms. Chute has focused on expanding markets, creating partnerships, developing strategies, overseeing capture efforts, leveraging resources, improving tools and processes, developing and executing trainings, and pursuing hundreds of opportunities totaling over $3 Billion dollars.
In addition to her work at IRI, Ms. Chute is currently an Adjunct Professor at The George Washington University in Washington, DC, where she has been teaching a course on proposal development within the Elliot School of International Affairs since 2016. Her previous roles include serving as Director of Business Development for Management Systems International, Creative Associates International and Equal Access International, as well as various BD consultancies. Prior to her work in international development, Ms. Chute was a staff member in the Washington, D.C. office of U.S. Senator Thomas R. Carper (D-DE) and for the Progressive Policy Institute, a Washington, D.C.-based think tank. She holds a B.A. in International Affairs from The George Washington University and an M.P.A. with a concentration in NGO Management from Syracuse University.
